## How custom taxes work

The custom tax rate applies only to payments for the particular service it is set for.

To illustrate, if the user has a custom tax rate set for their subscription, it is only applicable to their subscription payments. For other services, the location tax applies, or another custom tax if it is set for the specific resource or service the user is purchasing.
